AMD FSR SDK 2.4 Released, Bringing "Redstone" Features to the Vulkan Graphics API

AMD has released version 2.4 of the FSR SDK, the first FSR "Redstone" version to support Vulkan, bringing the same super resolution and frame generation features as DirectX 12 to that graphics API.

IT Home October 29 news, AMD locally on the 28th released version 2.4 of the FSR software development kit. This is the first FSR “Redstone” version supporting Vulkan, bringing the same super resolution and frame generation features to this graphics API as DirectX 12.

AMD mentioned that Vulkan games currently using AMD FSR 3.1 for image upscaling or frame generation will not be automatically upgraded via the driver to machine learning-based FSR super resolution or frame generation, because these upgrades only apply to DirectX 12 games.

FSR SDK 2.4 also officially supports FSR Super Resolution 4.1.2 on AMD Radeon RX 6000 series discrete graphics cards and multiple Ryzen APUs. It should be noted that Radeon RX 6000 and Ryzen AI Max processors use the same INT8 model as the Radeon 7000 series, while the remaining APUs only support a reduced optimized model that is less than half the size.
