IT之家 November 4 news, the tech media outlet 9to5Mac published a blog post today (November 4), reporting that Apple Fitness+ has launched the Gym Strength strength training feature, which is now open for testing. The new feature is aimed at gym and home training scenarios, and generates a four-week progressive plan based on the user’s goals, experience, schedule, and available equipment, and adjusts the content for the next week based on the number of training sessions and weights recorded each week.
Users can choose training dates and focus areas, with 5 or 7 exercises arranged each time, expected to take 20–30 minutes and 45–60 minutes respectively, with the actual duration depending on individual pace. The plan recommends exercises, sets, reps, and weights, and provides coach demonstration videos, supporting viewing of exercises from three angles.

According to Apple, the feature covers more than 350 exercises and is compatible with more than 30 types of strength training equipment, requiring at minimum only dumbbells. When equipment is occupied or the venue changes, users can substitute equipment, choose similar exercises, or add sets or skip exercises.
In terms of devices, the feature requires iOS 27.3 or iPadOS 27.3; paired with watchOS 27.3, users can view exercises and record reps and weights on Apple Watch. The optional Training Note feature is powered by Apple Intelligence and provides training previews, progression explanations, and milestone prompts, but requires the device to support Apple Intelligence and be set to English.

Gym Strength is included in the existing Fitness+ subscription at no additional charge. The U.S. subscription price is $9.99 per month (currently about 66.6 yuan RMB at the exchange rate) or $79.99 per year (currently about 533.2 yuan RMB at the exchange rate).
IT之家 note: Apple Fitness+ is a paid fitness subscription service launched by Apple, and is currently not yet available in mainland China. Users can think of it as “an online fitness course library within Apple devices”: led by coaches, with music, personalized course recommendations, and workout data display, it can be used for follow-along training at home as well as in the gym.
