Apple Hints at More New Products This Week: M6 iMac Expected Tomorrow Night, First Touchscreen MacBook Pro the Day After

Apple SVP Greg Joswiak posted an iPad mini (A20 Pro) video on X and said more new products are coming this week. Gurman expects M6 iMac and MacBook Pro tomorrow night and the first touchscreen MacBook Pro the day after.

IT之家 October 26 news: Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, posted an introduction video for the iPad mini (A20 Pro) on the X platform, and revealed that Apple will also roll out more new products successively this week.

Based on earlier Gurman leaks, Apple is expected to launch an iMac and MacBook Pro equipped with the M6 chip on the evening of tomorrow (October 27) Beijing time, and to launch its first touchscreen MacBook Pro on the evening of the day after tomorrow (October 28).

From the logic of this launch event, it can be seen that Apple does not want to hold a special large-scale event specifically to introduce the first touchscreen MacBook Pro. In fact, Jobs once described touchscreen laptops as a design that is “terrible from an ergonomic standpoint.” After Tim Cook became CEO, he also once compared merging tablets and PCs to “combining a toaster and a refrigerator.” Former marketing chief Phil Schiller and software chief Craig Federighi likewise once held negative views on touchscreen Macs. Now, with John Ternus taking over as CEO, Apple is finally preparing to launch its first touchscreen Mac.

Apple is expected to emphasize during this week’s launch event that “the touchscreen MacBook Pro is not a fusion product of the Mac and iPad,” nor will it become a computer whose primary mode of operation is touch. The keyboard and trackpad will remain the core input devices, while touch will be used for scenarios such as scrolling, zooming, panning, and swiping, which are better suited to direct screen interaction.
