IT Home October 30 news, according to CCTV News reports, on the morning of October 30, China Southern Airlines flight CZ3599 completed sustainable aviation fuel (hereinafter referred to as “SAF”) refueling at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and took off smoothly.

This is the first SAF flight departing from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, achieving a “zero breakthrough” for SAF flights in Guangzhou, and it is also the first time the Greater Bay Area has used the domestically produced large aircraft C919 to operate a SAF flight, marking the first time the domestically produced large aircraft and SAF appear together in the skies over the Greater Bay Area, adding a brand-new stroke to the construction of the beautiful China pioneer area in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and to serving the national “dual carbon” strategic goals.
IT Home note: Sustainable aviation fuel refers to aviation turbine fuel produced through clean processes from sustainable feedstocks such as waste oils and fats, agricultural and forestry waste, energy crops, industrial tail gas, green hydrogen, and captured carbon dioxide. Its physical and chemical properties are comparable to conventional petroleum-based aviation kerosene, and after airworthiness certification it can be blended and used in specified proportions, without modifying the aircraft, engines, or ground refueling facilities. It is currently one of the most realistic and feasible technical pathways for the aviation industry to achieve full-lifecycle carbon emission reduction.
