Why Robot Combat Performances Are Less Entertaining Than Last Year? Unitree Technology CEO Wang Xingxing Responds

Unitree CEO Wang Xingxing says robot combat is less watchable than last year because robots are now far more stable and rarely fall when hit, reducing the sense of confrontation; he also introduced fully autonomous combat based on an end-to-end world model.

IT之家 November 5 news, according to The Paper, an interesting phenomenon today is that this year’s robot fighting performances are actually less entertaining to watch than last year’s. Wang Xingxing, founder and CEO of Unitree Robotics, said at the Humanoid Robots and Embodied Intelligence Industry Innovation and Development Cooperation Forum of the 9th Hongqiao International Economic Forum that autonomous robot fighting was a concept proposed by Unitree in 2025, and more than a year has passed since then.

Wang Xingxing believes that there is an interesting phenomenon: the watchability of fighting performances now is actually not as good as last year, the reason being that in the past robots had poor stability, so the sense of combat confrontation was stronger; today, robot stability has greatly improved, and no matter how they are struck they stand very steadily, so scenes of falling to the ground and collapsing have become fewer.

IT之家 has learned from the original report that at the meeting Wang Xingxing also introduced Unitree Technology’s fully autonomous robot fighting realized based on an end-to-end world model, in which the robot collects images in real time and the model directly performs reasoning and decision-making.
